This week I would like to talk about a subject that I’m often asked about… “What can I do to feel and look as “normal “ as possible during and after chemotherapy”
My best friend is undergoing her second time around the block in 6 years, which in itself is hard enough never mind the gruelling schedule of treatment ahead.
My friend isn’t so bothered about the hair loss on the head, it’s more upsetting for her to think about how she will look without lashes and brows.
So this week before treatment began I took her to see someone I knew would have advice and solutions to hand.
Sue Marsh otherwise known as ‘Queen of Lashes’, has worked with me on many a shoot and fashion show. She is the celebrities’ best-kept secret and the beauty editors’ favourite for bespoke eyelash and eyebrow treatments.
Sue is constantly innovating and pioneering new lash-enhancing treatments, but most of all she is so compassionate about each of her clients circumstances, she has seen many chemo patients some of whom are close friends of her own.
First of all Sue made a precise stencil of each eyebrow, for my friend to use when she fills them back in. Then she fitted a removable strip lash and demonstrated in great detail how to apply to a lash free lid. To finish we colour matched the brows and made up a Cosmetics A La carte palette to take home.
So armed with lashes and brow kit, and a feeling of we’ll beat this thing together, we headed off with a bespoke beauty plan for my very beautiful friend. Many thanks to Sue Marsh.
